Keeping a secret is tough. And while I was going to wait until later in the week, it’s time to spill the beans (get it? beans?… and barbeque? oh, anyways) We’ve got a pretty big lineup for Friday – 12 beers with an average ABV up close to 10%. Whether you’re a newly inducted craft beer drinker or a die hard beer knurd, this list should have you covered. Like our kids, however, we try our best to love them all equally.
The lineup goes a little something like this…
2 x Local Legend IPA – an American India Pale Ale brewed with Citra and Amarillo hops. It’s a contender.
2 x Blonde Ale – a very unique blonde with a touch of banana and clove
1 x Biere from Mars followed by .5 x Old Stock Ale
1 x Wealth & Taste – Belgian golden strong ale brewed with lavender, chamomile, and white wine grape juice
1 x Pale Ryeder – Palm sugar (as in the sugar from a palm tree) Rye Tripel (brewed circa 2008)
1 x Oaked Cherry Double Brown Stout – Baltic porter meets oatmeal stout with cherries and oaked (one word – ridiculous)
1 x Darkest Hour – Rye Imperial Stout – brewed with carob molasses and Belgian dark candi syrup
2 x Wit/Saison – hybrid brewed with triticale, candied ginger, toasted coriander, and chamomile.
1 x Pollenator – Honey Dopplebock brewed with locally sourced Texas wildflower honey
1 x Bourbon Oak Pollenator – Honey Dobblebock oaked
2 x St. Andrew’s Scotch Ale
That should just about do it. It probably goes without saying that we’ll be a little light on beer for the next few months (or a few years as is the case with the Pale Ryeder and Old Stock Ale). If you want to get a taste of things to come, we better see you Friday.
So, I guess the only question is, where are you going to start? Tell us which ones you love (or hate) in the comments below… We’d love to know what you think.
